The pg电子下载 Writing Center began in 2003 under the direction of Dr. Murray Shugars, professor in the Department of English, Languages, and Mass Communications. A Title III Program, the pg电子下载 Writing Center works to strengthen and sustain an academic community of strong and confident writers.
Staffed by undergraduate peer consultants, the pg电子下载 Writing Center offers one-on-one writing consultations to all members of the university. We can help at any stage of the writing process—from interpreting assignments or assessing audiences to planning and brainstorming; from reading and evaluating sources to drafting, revising, and editing research papers.
We believe in the bond between literacy education and the social equality of higher education. To support this, we aid writers with the multiple literacies of writing—including media, information, and computer literacies. We want to help increase and sustain access to information for all students, as we believing that this is essential for shaping professionals, for fostering an informed citizenship, and for nurturing a life-long love of learning.
The pg电子下载 Writing Center supports readers and writers at all levels with:
- work at any stage of writing from development to completion
- academic, professional, personal, community, and creative projects
- written, visual, oral, digital, and mixed media “texts”
- computer usage, closed-reserve textbooks, and other media resources
- a relaxing atmosphere for individual or group study.
